The experience gained through the design of maintenance warehouses has allowed us to develop warehouses for industrial use that also have agricultural applications.

In this sense, we highlight the warehouses in Melilla and El Quejigal, in the town of Gaucín (Málaga), where the following work has been carried out:

• Design of all the facilities;
• Drafting the construction plan for the complex;
• Preparing and processing the tender, as well as advising the owner during the process to award the various jobs;
• The technical management of the project;
• The topographical monitoring of the construction work;
• The financial control of the construction work.

As well as the warehouses themselves, the work has also included other storage and water distribution facilities.

Developed at the same time as Mozanaque – Campo 3 for Golf La Moraleja and also designed by Nicklaus. The design constitutes a unique and ground-breaking site, with moulded tees and an absence of rough in the carries. The golf course has a very natural look thanks to the combination of Poa Pratensis with areas of high and naturalised grass (high Festucas). Bunkers with very irregular slopes and lots of water features along the entire course.

This golf course represents a milestone in the design, construction and maintenance of golf courses in Spain, due to the quality of its facilities. The project was designed by Jack Nicklaus and constructed in its entirety by acttua Golf Services, from its design through to its launch as an operational golf course.

The main functions undertaken by acttua Golf Services for this project included:

• Drafting the Construction Plans for the Complex;
• Preparing and processing the tender, as well as advising the owner during the process to award the various jobs;
• Technical and agronomic management of the project;
• The design of the maintenance warehouse and of the components adjoining the golf course;
• The topographical monitoring of the construction work;
• Financial control of the construction work.

Although the construction work has been completed and the golf course is now operational, acttua Golf Services is still involved in this project as the Technical Advisor.

La Real Sociedad Hípica Española golf course is one of the most emblematic and oldest golf courses in Spain, and a number of activities are undertaken at its facilities. It has two exceptional golf courses designed by Robert Von Hagge, as well as extensive practice and short game facilities and par 3 holes. At the end of 2014, acttua Golf Services was selected to carry out a thorough audit of the facilities as a basis for the subsequent development of projects to improve the facilities.

The Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, designed by José María Olazábal (IGD) is one of the most prestigious golf courses in Europe, thanks especially to the fact that it hosts Professional Tournaments, including the Spain Open (in 2008, 2010 and 2012) and above all the World Cup (in 2004).

Traditionally, it has been an iconic club in terms of the condition of its facilities and with this in mind, the Club engaged acttua Golf Services in 2012 to undertake an accurate reconstruction of the greens to improve their quality. Through close collaboration with the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, we continue to provide topographical support in the development of new projects, such as the renovation of its driving range in the summer of 2014.

Designed by José María Olazábal (IGD) and managed by the company Makinggolf, a specialist in these types of facilities, Retamares hosted the Mahou Open in 2007 and the Reale Challenge de España in 2008, both of which form part of the European Tour, as well as the Madrid Ladies Masters in 2007, 2008 and 2009, which forms part of the Ladies European Tour. At the Casino Club de Golf Retamares, acttua Golf Services’s technicians have been responsible for work to improve the facilities, including the creation of a network of buggies, the renovation of the lakes to allow the storage of sufficient water resources for irrigation during the summer months, the design and construction of the maintenance warehouse, etc. Currently, we are involved in the monitoring and provision of advice for the agronomics of the golf course, the renovation of the teeing grounds, the renovation of the bunkers around the whole course and the topographical monitoring of the construction work.

One of the largest manufacturers of natural grass in Europe, Novogreen supplies a large quantity of certified varieties, such as Bermuda Celebration and Seaisle 2000. A pioneer in innovation in the sector, the company produces more than 15 different varieties at its 3 distribution centres and has almost 250 hectares of farmland.

Since 2015, acttua Golf Services has been working closely with Novogreen to develop its R&D program, as well as to perform the agronomic supervision of its various estates (Arévalo in Ávila, Plasencia in Extremadura and Deltebre in the Ebro Delta). In addition, acttua Golf Services is overseeing the different certifications in force for their maintenance.

Probably the most exclusive private Members Club in Spain with just 200 members for its two 18-hole golf courses. Designed by Bradford Benz and opened in 1993, the Zagaleta golf course enjoys a unique setting in Europe.

At the end of 2014, acttua Golf Services was selected to carry out the construction project to renew the whole course, including changes to the drainage system and the irrigation system, as well as changes to the substrate and the grass species. Moreover, acttua has been responsible for completing the topographical work and CAD design required for the design and subsequent monitoring of the renovation project.

El Real Club de Golf Pineda is one of the oldest and most prestigious clubs in Spain, with almost 10,000 members who enjoy a great variety of sports and activities at the Club’s facilities. Acttua Golf Services has been collaborating with Real Club Pineda for several years, and is responsible for the following areas:

• The agronomic aspects of the facilities.
• The field technicians performing the construction projects for the renovation being undertaken by the Club.
• Development of the Club’s Investment Plans.
• Oversight of the construction work and financial control.

We have been participating in the modernisation of the Club’s facilities for more than five years, including:

• The creation of a rainwater system.
• The renovation of the practice area, with the creation of a new putting green and chipping green.
• The renovation of the driving range and the creation of a schools area.
• The renovation of the bunkers.
• The installation of Croquet pitches.
• Modifications to the racecourse area to channel the rainwater for compatibility with the uses of the facilities.

One of the sunniest golf courses in Spain. Constructed in 1968 and designed by Robert Trend Jones Jr. Las Brisas has hosted major professional tournaments, such as the Spain Open and the World Cup of Nations (1973). Since opening and with the passage of time, the Club’s facilities have gradually deteriorated, which is why, a few years ago, the Club embarked on an ambitious project to redesign and renovate its facilities. Kyle Philips was chosen to undertake this redesign and acttua Golf Services was selected to implement and control the entire renovation process.

In 2013, acttua Golf Services won the International Ideas Competition to develop a resort on the Island of Nosy Be (in Madagascar) in collaboration with the company Sotourban. Since then we have been working hard on the project, which will house almost 300 villas, a hotel, a golf course, a number of regenerated beaches, a marina, etc. The project involves investment of more than €85 million and the construction phase will begin in March 2017. Acttua Golf Services is responsible for the following aspects of this project:

• Preparing the Master Plan and making successive adjustments to it, on the basis of the expansion of the site.
• Designing all of the components for the urbanisation (the marina and berthing area, the sewage system, the technical areas, the urbanisation itself, the retail space, etc.).
• Responsible for the Project Technicians and for regenerating the beaches.
• Selecting the materials.
• Designing the golf course.
• Responsible for the agronomic aspects.
• Project Manager.

Moreover, once the work has begun, acttua will be responsible for overseeing that work, as well as for performing the topographical and financial monitoring of the project.

The Real Valderrama Golf Club, which is synonymous with quality and prestige in the world of golf, was designed by Robert Trend Jones Sr., and is an exclusive Members only Club. Ranked Number 1 in Continental Europe since 1998 and host to the Ryder Cup in 1997, it maintains a strong commitment to the environment and to the quality of its facilities, which is why, despite their high quality, the Club is immersed in a comprehensive renovation program.

As part of this renovation work, acttua Golf Services has been selected to design the new irrigation system, to lead the technical management of the construction work and to perform the topographical and financial monitoring of the renovation work.
